Miss Samreen won the Gold Medal in Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games 2024
Miss Samreen, the judo player, won the gold medal in the -50 kg weight category in the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games.
The second edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games commenced on Saturday with a grand opening ceremony at Jinnah Stadium, located within the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.
Approximately 3,000 athletes and technical officials from across the nation, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, participated in the Quaid-e-Azam Games, which were held after a seven-year hiatus.
These games aimed to offer a robust platform for emerging athletes to display their talents, while also providing coaching and training opportunities in preparation for future national and international competitions.
The Gilgit-Baltistan contingent, consisting of 352 players and officials, participated in the said games. Various competitions took place across a wide range of disciplines, with Gilgit-Baltistan securing 1 gold 2 silver and 10 bronze medals in multiple events. Miss Samreen, the judo player, won the gold medal in the -50 kg weight category.
